HPDP
High School Player Developmental Program

PLAYERS GOING THROUGH WARM-UPS

The High School Player Developmental Program (HPDP) was created to develope
players having the desire to play
ba
sketball at the High School level.
Players are selected to HPDP training and Summer League
from GTBBL Junior and Senior Division players from try-outs.

Some of the areas that the HPDP
focuses on are skill development,
conditioning, court awareness,
tactics, mental discipline, and the
importance of goal setting.

The HPDP program stresses the importance of academic achievement of it's players as well as the development of athletic skills. The program begins during the first week of April with try-outs and the forming of an all-star team. Players then participate in an intensive 3 month training program. Training sessions continue until the last week of June.

Players will then be given the
opportunity to put their new skills to practical use by participating in a Junior Varsity High School Summer Basketball League. Competing in a Junior Varsity league is a valuable experience in preparing players to play at the High
School level. Training sessions also continue during the Summer League season.

Team work-outs are held twice a week
and then once a week during the
Summer League season. Games are
played twice a week beginning in the end of June and continue through July with the top 8 competing in play-offs during the first week in August.
